Successful candidate will join a mature technical project as a Mid level Computer Systems/Network Engineer. Responsible for providing engineering support services to ensure secure and continuous operations of business application servers, database servers, and web servers at a Government facility. Candidates with a stable job history are desired. Candidate will report to onsite AT&T LAN Supervisor.
Required Skills: This position requires 5 - 7 years of network engineering experience in the operation and management of an enterprise level network. Experience required in the configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of network hardware and software. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Microsoft Network Management using VMware ESX4.0 and 4.1, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008, familiar with IBM Blade Servers and Symantec Backup Exec 2010 software. Specific tasks: Includes supporting business applications, assisting in supporting a help desk, documenting help desk responses, monitoring network, server and client systems to identify problems areas, performing backups and updating LAN-based COTS applications. Providing information assurance support services to include back up support for the Information Assurance Security Officer, performing network scanning and vulnerability assessments with approved software, installing security patches and updates. Managing and reviewing user accounts, access, and logins and suspending or terminating accounts in accordance with local policy. Performing additional Information Security duties as required. Additional duties will include loading and configuring VMware virtual computing environments. Solid communication and client interface skills are required.
