Position Summary
Reporting to the President/Chief Executive Officer and Co-COOs, the Federal Solutions VP is responsible for managing federal day to day operations that align with GCS strategic corporate goals and meeting annual growth objectives. Manage Federal company operations to maximize middle market growth, service, quality, production efficiency with cost-effective management of resources. Build, manage, mentor and develop an effective GCS leadership team. Demonstrate strong corporate citizenship.
Build, create best practices Business Management Program Management capabilities and solutions. As a member of Executive Team (VP, CFO, CEO), engage collaboratively in corporate planning, direction and decision making. With a direct staff: Business Development, Proposal Writing, (2) Federal Business Unit Directors, Director of Talent Acquisition and their respective staffs. The VP manages the following:
Primary Responsibilities
Business Portfolio Management and Development
Working with Division management and in alignment with GCS strategic goals:
Meet/exceed corporate revenue and profit objectives
Grow new business in current accounts, grow Program Management business and business in new accounts across GCS portfolio.
Ensure development of addressable pipeline of business for 2012 and beyond.
Develop enduring relationships with GCS customers and ensure highest levels of customer retention & satisfaction
Develop marketing and sales strategies based on market conditions, GCS core capabilities and competition
Oversight and final approval of all business (Technical and Cost) proposals within COO Authority Matrix approval level
Demonstrate government contracting leadership/recognition in appropriate customer forums
Operations
Working with CFO and Co-COOs:
Collaborate to provide smooth daily operations that provide tangible support to business development and operations
Identify high-risk areas for collaborative resolution with CEO
Ensure GCS contracts/government compliance elements are managed effectively and renewals achieved
Evaluate performance of executives against objectives, compliance with established policies
Financial Management and Oversight
Working with the CFO, manage and oversee all business planning activities, including:
Direct and administer all financial plans for Operating Divisions
Oversee business policies
Review and analyze financial reports
Support and advise the CEO in decision making
Support organizational budgeting process
Manage reporting and monitoring of organizational performance metrics
Analyze activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions
Talent Acquisition
Working with the Talent Acquisition Director, manage and oversee the recruiting function, including:
Optimizing resources to attract candidates
Creating a sustainable pipeline that meets business demands
Rapid Response staffing
Developing and implementing innovative recruiting strategies
Experience and Education Requirements
Must possess a Bachelors Degree. A Masters Degree is preferred.
Must have 10 years of work experience with a government contracting service and/or solutions provider(s) building teams & solutions and enhancing revenue.
Subject matter expertise in Program Management and/or Business Management is a plus.
Knowledge or experience working in the Intelligence Community is desired.
Mergers and Acquisitions experience is a plus.
Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
