General Dynamics IT has an opening for a Tier 1/2 Help Desk Specialist in Washington, DC.
Highly technical help desk duties include working with regional help desk technicians and local users to resolve system issues. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems with laptops, desktops, peripheral equipment, network devices and servers. 2. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance. 3. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. 4. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers. 5. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 6. Participates in special projects as assigned.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
2-5 years of related systems engineering experience.
Desirable but not required skills and experience include: Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, LANDesk, Aventail VPN, RSA Authentication, MS Project 2007, MS Office 2003 & 2007, Directory Resource Administration (DRA), Dell Desktop & Laptops, PGP Encryption, Blackberry, Citrix or Windows Terminal Service
Candidate needs to be highly self-motivated and eager to learn.
