Founded in 1986, Family Advocacy Services (FAS) is a community-based mental health agency that provides a range of treatment programs for at-risk youth and their families throughout Virginia. FAS offers Therapeutic Foster Care with ""Wrap-Around"" support services for children and their biological families when possible. FAS also offers intensive home-based and outpatient services to help stabilize families and prevent out of home placements or support successful reunifications.

Family Advocacy Services of Virginia is seeking a
Therapist to provide psychotherapy to individuals to aid a client or consumer in problems of living with the goal of increasing an individual's sense of their own well-being. Therapists employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building, dialogue, communication and behavior change that is designed to improve the mental health of a client or patient, or to improve group relationships (such as in a family).
Qualifications Requirements:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or a Master's Degree in a related Human Service field- Licensed as a LCSW or LPC in the state of Virginia
Two (2) years professional experience in the provision of therapy services in individual, family and group work to children and families
Working knowledge of individual, group and family behaviors
Demonstrating competence in the provision of individual, group and family therapy
Familiarity with the Foster Care, Juvenile Justice and Education Systems
Demonstrating the ability to work effectively with emotionally handicapped adolescents and their natural and/or foster families
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, students, families and outside agencies
Bi-lingual skill in Spanish and English preferred
Must have valid driver's license and a reliable automobile
