Specific Job Description Support the preparation, planning, setup, and execution of Development, Qualification, and Production Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) testing of electronic components.
Setup and operate test equipment to perform vibration, transit shock, temperature cycling, thermal shock, humidity, altitude, and static acceleration tests.
Setup and operate digital vibration controllers to perform broadband random, swept sine, classical shock, and shock synthesis tests using electrical-mechanical vibration expiators.
Maintain and perform minor repair of laboratory test equipment.
Conduct dynamic and climatic tests in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards, and organizational policy, and ensure proper equipment calibration.
Install thermocouples on test items during temperature tests as required by the test procedure.
Install accelerometers on test items for use during vibration and shock tests.
Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, and customers through effective communication and writing skills.
Be able to support overtime testing requirements and be able to complete occasional short-term test assignments at off-site locations.
Must have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance.
Standard Job Description Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of electronic assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences; lays out and assembles units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications. Adjusts and calibrates systems as required; modifies electronic equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and sketches. Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed. Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties. Determines types of tests to be performed, approves and suggests modifications to testing equipment, and analyzes test results to evaluate performance of products and equipment. Assists engineers in design and development of test procedures for new products and recommends product improvements or manufacturing modifications. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Security Clearance Secret
Typical Minimums High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 1 Year of experience.
