Systems Engineer 3\4
This individual is needed to assist the Lead System Integrator (LSI) customer and program teammates in expressing their needs in terms which can be used to generate valid requirements. They will identify, analyze, define, and coordinate user, customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements. In addition they will:
- Help identify technology solutions with the potential to improve business processes.
- Work with stakeholders as well as technical and analytical counterparts to define constraints, and develop requirements and concept of operations documentation.
- Work with stakeholders to identify best-fit technical solutions to meet LSI needs.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide conceptual design, prototype, and test cycles appropriate to a chosen technical solution. Identify, document and manage inter-dependencies with other systems and elements of the IT infrastructure.
- Evaluate industry offering to identify products and technologies with the potential to support solution integration and design.
- Perform system engineering tasks in support.
- Define user stories (including acceptance criteria) in coordination with end users and customers.
- Suggest potential solutions to development team.
- Prepare and conduct design reviews. Assist in sprint planning and execution.
- Communicate requirements to developers and testers.
- Apply disciplined agile software development processes and tools.
Required skills:
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience, preferably developing enterprise services
Java programming language
Agile development

IBM Initiate
Knowledge of the LSI Identities applications is strongly preferred.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Position requires current SSBI/SCI security clearance with FS Polygraph or equivalent. Applicants MUST include their Security Clearance Level, Investigation Type and Investigation Date clearly on their resume. Position is contingent on customer security approval.
