System Design Engineer Argon ST College Level
Boeing's Electronic & Mission Systems business area Argon ST, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is looking for a recent college graduate to join their Development group as a Systems Design Engineer to support hands-on design and development of state-of-the art communications electronics in one of the following areas: Analog, Digital, Integrated Circuits, Optical, or Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave. Responsibilities will include, assist with the development and documentation of electronic and electrical system requirements. Develop or modify basic hardware and software designs based on defined requirements. Perform system tests to verify operational and functional requirements. Assist in monitoring suppliers' performance to ensure compliance with requirements. Support resolution of product integration issues and production anomalies. Research basic technologies for potential application to company business needs.

Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Java 2 Enterprise and Mobile Editions (J2EE, J2ME), C++, Visual Basic, C, Assembly, Ladder Logic, Numerical Control (NC) Programming, Matlab). Basic knowledge of communications, networking, and protocols (e.g., Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML), Wireless Access Protocol (WAP)). Basic knowledge of software development and testing tools (e.g., editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulations, configuration management tools, requirements management tools) capability and usage. Basic ability to apply knowledge of database engines to the design of databases and reporting structures. Basic ability to integrate hardware and software components into a functional system. Basic knowledge of software testing and usability theory. Basic knowledge of testing, usability practices. Basic ability to write and execute test scripts and perform usability analyses.

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
