Purpose of Position: The Savvis SMB Market Account Manager is accountable for prospecting/selling into small to mid-size companies within a geographic region. Additionally, the SMB Account manager will be accountable for revenue growth and customer satisfaction within a group of accounts. Position Summary: * Achieve or exceed monthly revenue targets * Ensure and maintain minimum funnel goals are met or exceeded * Generate $5 of opportunity for every $1 dollar of assigned quota * Manage the CRM tool and provide weekly feedback on prospects and opportunities Essential duties: * Prospect to identify new sales opportunities * Qualify and make presentations to potential customers * Propose and close opportunities for SAVVIS solutions * Cross sell and up sell the SAVVIS product suite into existing accounts * Set and manage customer expectations throughout the lifecycle of the account * Identify and capture revenue opportunities for SAVVIS services * Independently establish and grow new or existing client base * Identify, understand and solve any obstacles or objections to the successful sale of SAVVIS services Minimum Requirements: * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an inside sales role, selling deals to C-level executives and senior management in small to mid-size companies * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * Background in IT infrastructure or integration companies or direct experience with hosting/professional service providers-hardware (e.g. EMC), software (e.g. Oracle), security (e.g. Verisign, Cisco), IT consulting (e.g. Accenture), system integrators (e.g. CSC). Service providers include IBM, Verizon-Digex, AT&T Hosting, or smaller players like Data Return and Rackspace (AT&T and Verizon players have to have HOSTING background) * Demonstrated success in applying consultative selling techniques to opportunities with extensive Sales Training (e.g. Holden, Complex Sales, other) * Proven and verifiable track record in exceeding sales quotas * Proven sales track record in a Geographic Market with a rolodex of contacts * Experience in working in smaller start-up or mid-size companies * Excellent communication skills * High energy and drive Preferred Requirements: * Has advanced knowledge of SAVVIS offerings, products and services.
