Job Descriptions:
SUMMARY:Provides vision, leadership and management, objectives, strategies and measurements to iDirect’s global market development team. This senior-level position provides a unique opportunity to work in a multi-functional environment with product management, corporate marketing, sales, and partners. This position requires management of a team of industry specialists and marketing communication experts to develop and execute a strategy which allows the market development of a particular market segment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Build a best-in-class market development team focused on expanding the addressable market for satellite connectivity taking iDirect where it has not been before. · Provide leadership for the company for the creation and implementation of iDirect’s market development strategy and approach · Prioritize market segments and set market development strategies for each. · Develop a common methodology using market research and analysis to determine potential new markets for iDirect. · Assesses conditions and opportunities to determine new market development segments into which to expand iDirect efforts and makes recommendations to management based on analyses; · Develop strategies for deeper market penetration in existing key vertical market segments for iDirect · Demonstrates an understanding of vertical customer requirements and can effectively communicate how satellite technology and iDirect provides a solution that meets their needs · Drive visibility of iDirect in respective market development segments by interfacing with industry influencers and voices that matter – attend conferences, write white papers, speak at industry events. · Be a strong spokesperson for iDirect and our market development efforts; · Oversee the positioning and messaging of iDirect in target markets presenting a clear value proposition to build mindshare and condition the market · Manage the team of industry experts and vertical marketing staff. · Supports internal stakeholders in field support, sales, product marketing, and engineering to drive market success · Performs all human resource management functions for those reporting to this position, including training, coaching, performance management, rewards and discipline, recommendations for pay increases.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This position requires the management of the market development team, consisting of 6 global professionals.

·Education:Minimum BS Marketing, Computer Science, or Technical information management degree from an accredited 4-year college or an equivalent work experience required. MBA a plus. ·Experience: · A minimum of fifteen years of prior experience in marketing with a specialization in market development. · Experience in developing sustaining relationships. · Experience managing a distributed, global team. · Technology rooted. · Customer and product experience. · Experience in managing in a high growth environment. · Experience in solution selling methodologies. · Has been seen as a business partner by customers and/or alliances. · Comfortable evaluating risks and making decisions. · Fit with iDirect culture, structure, values, products and services; · Understanding of concepts and principles of market development and on the tools and technologies needed to establish strategies and measurements; ·Skills and Abilities:Must be able to: · Have comfortable dialoging at senior executive levels. · Able to have business planning discussions dialog with peer executives in strategic alliance accounts. · Brings market knowledge that includes understanding of influencers, conversations that need to happen, drivers of business models, and experience in trade-off product/technology discussions – all addressing how markets embrace new technology to aid in running the business. · Cultivates mutual respect and credible relationships. · Analytical strengths to address solutions, value-added conversations with partners. · Idea stimulant and thought provoking · Skilled at articulating business tradeoffs; ROI alternatives, short and long term business impact. · Executive presence; confident and quick on the feet; proactive in engaging internal ideas to help with the whole · Communicate well both orally and in writing; · Be able to manage senior level industry specialists, who often have huge egos. · Create and coordinate functions and processes relating to market development segments across departmental lines within iDirect; · Direct and support the work of the industry specialists for each market development segment; · Work in a fast paced environment and the ability to prioritize.
Travel Requirements:Up to 35% travel will be required
