Senior Associate
-Writing strategy documents, communications plans, op-eds and other client-ready materials -Pitching key city and state reporters -Drafting and editing press releases, fact sheets, talking points, presentation, and other communications documents -Building press lists and pitching reporters and editorial boards to get media attention for events, ideas, and breaking news -Researching issues, candidates, and past media coverage of a diverse range of topics -Proposing creative ideas for helping clients achieve their goals -Monitoring various forms of media on a daily or more frequent basis to help aid in rapid response -Three+ years experience in strategic communications, or demonstrated equivalent experience, with preference for experience in advocacy/ public affairs / political or crisis work. -Demonstrated relationship with congressional and/or national reporters. -Excellent news sense and political savvy, as well as knowledge of print and electronic news media in Washington, DC and nationally. -Ability to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and meet schedules and assigned tasks in a timely manner. -Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with varying levels of company staff, clients, contractors and media.
