General Summary:Perform routine and specialized procedures, review and approve clinical test results for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in accordance with established protocol for a laboratory performing high complexity procedures as defined by the standards of the Clinical laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital. Minimum Requirements:Associate of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, biological, chemical or related science; Current ASCP, and/or NCA certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician; Minimum one year post degree work experience in a hospital clinical laboratory performing moderate complexity testing as stated in the general summary: at least 6 months experience performing general laboratory testing: and isfactory completion of a clinical laboratory science clinical laboratory educational rotation. Successful completion of an official United States military medical laboratory training course with the submission of an official copy of the military academic record; and least 6 months generalist experience post ociates of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, biological, chemical or related science; and As of March 1, 2002, at least 10 years of continuous experience in a clinical laboratory. Ability to work in harmony with other personnel; Must have visual acuity, to include depth perception and color discrimination; Demonstrates basic computer literacy; Demonstrates comprehension, skill and command of oral and written English languagecommunication. Ability to follow and execute oral and written instructions; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of basic laboratory (Hematology and Chemistry) concepts and technical procedures; Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
