The Office of the Chief Information Officer within DHS DNDO/ Office of the Chief of Staff has a requirement for a Senior Information Technology Analyst to provide effective utilization of Information Technology (IT) at DNDO.
General Position Description: Ensure sound processes and procedures are in place to provide IT operations and support for the DNDO mission.
Tasks to be performed include, but are not limited to, the following: · Identify gaps in current IT Operations, document, and develop solutions for those gaps. · Identify, document, and implement sound inventory management processes and procedures for all DNDO Information Technology. · Identify and implement processes and procedures for proactive management of DNDO’s technology to improve the IT Infrastructure and avoid breakdowns and impact to the DNDO mission. · Identify candidate technologies which might improve DNDO’s ability to meet its goals and objectives and foster the implementation of those technologies at DNDO. · Ensure that DNDO IT Operations is effectively stewarding the scare resources available to support our mission, and identify and implement opportunities to improve our efficiency. · Identify opportunities to improve support of our internal stakeholders at DNDO and foster excellence in customer service. · Identify opportunities to improve DNDO’s working relationship with DHS Headquarters, and at all times ensure that services provided by HQ IT are meeting the needs of the DNDO mission. · Ensure that DNDO IT Facilities are meeting the needs of DNDO team members. · Ensure that shared IT assets such as conference rooms and telecommunications are effectively utilized. · Ensure that technology used to provide services to the DNDO are cost effective and provide a solid return on investment. · Ensure that software and hardware purchase are effectively managed. · Ensure that all DNDO IT Operations are in full compliance with applicable rules and regulations, IT Security, and 508. · Serve as the alternate DNDO Section 508 Coordinator. · Represent DNDO interests as needed on DHS HQ OCIO senior level work groups and IPTs
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): · Intimate knowledge of IT best practices and procedures · Ability to effectively manage technology independently · Significant experience managing Information Technology (IT) Operations · Ten to fifteen years minimum IT Operations or IT-related customer service experience. · Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. · Ability to efficiently and courteously multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests. · Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 15 lbs for short distances and to crawl or kneel on floor or under tables and desks to hook up cables and electrical cords.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): · Hands on experience in trouble-shooting hardware and software issues. · Proved track record of providing excellent customer service in IT Operations area. · Some experience or familiarity with COMSEC equipment monitoring and deployment helpful but not necessary. · Bachelor’s degree
