Front Office Specialist Department: OB/GYN Practice - La Plata Schedule: Full Time - 80 hrs/pp Shift: Day Hours: 80 hrs/bi-weekly Salary: Grade NE20 $14.26 - $17.82 Based on Experience Job Details: * SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Office Manager, provides oversight to the practice management duties i.e. scheduling, post charges and co-pays, supply inventory and ordering, and patient flow management. Supports the office management and clerical support in the provision of patient care. Serves as patient advocate. This job has limited supervisory responsibilities of the front office staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of two years administrative or office management experience in a physician's office or outpatient health care setting required with two or more years experience in management required. Additional experience in a multi-specialty practice preferred. Previous experience in billing, coding, claims submission and processing, accounts receivable and payable required. SKILLS & ABILITIES: - Demonstrated knowledge various of computer software including but not limited to Medical Manager practice management system, Windows 98, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete multiple projects without close supervision. - Demonstrated organizational skills. - Demonstrated ability to type 40 words per minute. - The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all patient, health system and departmental documents is required.
