Statement of Purpose/Summary of Major Essential Functions:· Plans, develops, implements and evaluates patient admissions.
* Oversees the patient admissions function, bed assignments, and completion of preliminary paperwork for entering patients. Works in tandem with medical, nursing, clinical liaison and accounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement.
* Collects, reviews, and inputs clinical patients data into a computer processing system. Completing admissions contract with patient or responsible party and explaining and hospital policies and procedures were appropriate.
* Supports the development of appropriate referrals by creating and sustaining business relationships with referral sources.
* Communicate with Clinical Liaisons regarding assessment for review/admission.
* Monitor daily discharges, admission to update census board.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in nically trained professional Experience with critical care, long-term care, trauma, or other specialty setting preferred. Admissions protocol and census achievement experience preferred. Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbally) with all levels of hospital staff, physicians, family and patient referral sources a must.

At least 2 years related experience in the field of communications, medical staff development, marketing and public relations. Health field experience preferred. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in theDistrict of Columbia. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, preferred.
