Assistant Athletic Communications Director (Sports Media/PR/Broadcasting)
The Assistant Athletics Communications Director position exists to assist the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Communications in publicizing our University's 16 intercollegiate athletic teams and in the writing, editing and publishing of all external athletic publications. This position works under general supervision.
Serves as the athletic communications contact for the following sports: men's basketball, women's volleyball, women's field hockey, men's & women's cross country and track, and women's lacrosse. Write and edit external athletic publications, prepare and provide pre and post-game information, maintain statistics, write feature stories for our University website, produce live broadcast and edit video highlights, update web pages, Facebook, Twitter and mobile app. Manage student-workers and communications event staff. Includes frequent traveling in-season.
Requirements
Experience in sports information and with game statistics programs necessary. Working knowledge of Macintosh and IBM systems, including the Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and all Microsoft Office Programs, is required. Must have strong writing skills and web publishing knowledge.
Educational requirements:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations or related field.
