Architectural Sales Manager
Founded in 1973 as Copper Sales, Inc., Firestone Metal Products has become an industry leader in the manufacturing of architectural metal products. In 1981 we began producing the UNA-CLAD™ line of coated steel and aluminum, providing a high quality solution for architectural metal panels.
Since then, we have developed into one of the leading architectural metal service centers to the construction industry. Our growth led to the acquisition of Copper Sales by Indianapolis-based Firestone Diversified Products LLC, in 2005. Now, under the Firestone Metal Products, LLC. name, we maintain our reputation of delivering the highest quality products.
We are currently seeking an Architectural Sales Manager to join our growing team! This is a work-from-home position requiring 40% travel within the assigned sales territory. This position will be responsible for managing our Northeast and Ohio sales territories.
Description:
External Sales Force Management:
Achieve objectives by implementing division marketing objectives and strategies; focus sales resources on target customers, competitors and differential advantages
Select, train and motivate the external sales force to achieve significant dollar volume growth annually
Train external sales representatives on how to successfully present the product line to the architectural and building owner community
Serve as lead in presenting product lines to large architecture and building firms
Upgrade the quality of field sales force to overall competitors in order to meet customer needs and company’s sales volume
Expand and coordinate sales efforts with sales representative
Assist external sales representatives in the collaboration and service needs for architects and building owners
Develop and implement specific action plans for each external sales representative
Replacement of field sales force personnel as necessary
Research, appoint, cancel sales representatives and modify sales territories as required to achieve objectives
Ensure ongoing positive relationships with sales representatives
Enhance Firestone’s reputation for leadership, fairness and business ethics
Ensure ongoing compliance with division pricing policies
Other Duties and Activities:
Define, qualify and quantify product enhancement and development requirements/opportunities.
Participate in development of division plan
Integrate market development managers and customer service reps into the sales activities of the region
Participate in the development of annual marketing plans and strategic plan
Travel to work areas within region as market conditions dictate
Attend and actively participate in national, regional and local trade events
Call on select customers with or without field sales force to ensure their maximum satisfaction
Foster customer relationships to increase purchasing loyalty with Firestone
Monitor customer satisfaction and advice issuance of claims when necessary to maintain goodwill
Assist the outside sales force in the identification and licensing of wall products contractor customers
Monitor and cancel licensed wall products contractor customers based on acceptability of performance level
Facilitate sales growth through product presentations/project consultations to specifying influences: architects/engineers, consultants, building owners
Facilitate and foster positive interaction with architects and building owners
Optimize relationships, process efficiencies with Sales and Estimating/Project Management Departments
Manage all activities within expense budget guidelines
Assist, when possible, with sales efforts connected to Firestone Metal Products – Roofing Division and Firestone Building Products
Region’s Sales Volume:
Manage the field external sales to achieve/exceed the sales volume (SF, revenue, profit) and market share objectives of: flat sheet/coil; wall panel products; column covers; screen walls; solar shading devices.
Establish sales performance levels for each sales territory and make replacements where necessary to achieve objectives
Provide forecasts by product as required by upper management
Develop regional sales plans with upper management to achieve current and long-term objectives
Achieve target volume objectives with selected national accounts
Required skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline
8+ years of sales experience
3+ years of sales management experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience selling metal wall panels, wall cavity products, column covers, screen panels or other related construction products
Commercial construction experience required
