Description:Distributed System Analyst/Developer
Developers on this task will be required to maintain, support, and enhance systems under the purview of Benefits Systems. Most of these systems are currently running on OPM?sMainframeplatform. Benefits System customers consist of other organizations within OPM (Retirement Services, Healthcare and Insurance, Office of Actuary, and Office of Chief Financial Officer). In addition to our internal customers, there may be interaction with members of Partner Agencies and non-governmental organizations which utilize data from our systems.
Resources should have an understanding ofdistributed and LAN/WAN systemsand common database platforms (includingSQL server, Oracle, and DB2). These systems are currently running primarily on OPM?s LAN/WAN based distributed systems. These systems may be ?n-tier? distributed systems with web interfaces; systems may also consist of database back ends accessed through ?fat? desktop clients. ?Fat clients? may be provisioned for desktop installation, or for delivery through web virtualization such as CITRIX technology. Systems may include communication with components and data running and stored on OPM?s mainframes. Developers will also need a background in Systems Analysis. This skill is required for support activities and to assist with the development of requirements and other SDLC required documentation.
All candidates will be required to pass a Public Trust Moderate Risk ? Limited Background/Minimum Background Investigation andfill out the OPM Skills Matrix.
