Oversees the development of accreditation standards and related learning goals and objectives; designs profession-wide curriculum, designs and develops training materials for surveyors, program directors and preceptors.
Requirements:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversees development of accreditation standards, related learning goals and objectives and accreditation regulations. - Conducts research to determine the validity of the accreditation standards. - Conducts task and learning analysis of general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice and technician practice. - Leads teams of content matter experts to develop outcomes, goals, objectives, criteria and instructional objectives for pharmacy residency and pharmacy technician training. - Leads teams of content matter experts to update Model Curriculum for pharmacy technician training. - Evaluates the current training materials for effectiveness to make recommendations for improvement. - Develops and facilitates training for accreditation surveyors. - Oversee the design and development of web-based, interactive, computer based instruction. - Develops tools, training programs and communications to assist programs in meeting the accreditation standards and designing site-specific residency and technician training programs. - Monitors survey results, staff input and other information sources to identify training needs for surveyors, preceptors and program directors. - Assists in development of minutes of the Commission on Credentialing. - Facilitates focus groups and work groups as assigned. - Coordinates and contributes articles for publication, newsletters and updates about accreditation (web, hard copy, etc.). - Assists with activities to integrate accreditation survey data with ASHPs practice-data collection and validation. - Assists in planning and conducting accreditation-related activities at ASHPs educational meetings. - Contributes to content planning for ASHPs journal, Web site and educational meetings. - Coordinates activities with staff in other divisions and offices. - Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Ph.D. in instructional design , Ph.D. in medical education, or M.Ed. in instructional design with at least 5 years of work experience in task and learning analysis and design of educational programs. - Curriculum development skills. - Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. - Demonstrated skill in the design and development of interactive, computer- based instruction. - Excellent task analysis and learning analysis skills. - Excellent skills in the design, development and delivery of educational and training programs. - Demonstrated ability to speak effectively to audiences and lead audience-participation dialogues (e.g., in training presentations, workshops, open hearings and town-hall-like events). - Experience teaching adults preferred. - Work experience in a professional association preferred.
